Project 4 – Photoshop Montage

P4_MeganHendrickson_Montage

  1. Description: This project was inspired by the young women I teach at church. They are a brilliant group of young women who are shining examples to those around them, but sometimes I fear that they forget their own worth.
  2. Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, Steps taken while designing): In Photoshop I layered the image of the girl on top of the image of the stars and created a mask. I then blended the girls hair into the stars in the layer below. I added the text and used layer styles to bring out the title of text. I also used the clone stamp to blend some branches and blades of grass into the gray and white background.
  3. Message: That all women are daughters of a loving God and that he created them to be beautiful, modest, and gracious.
  4. Audience: All women, but young women in particular.
  5. Top Thing Learned: I learned how to use layer masks in Photoshop.
  6. Filter / Colorization used and where it was applied: I used embossing, a drop shadow, and violet inner glow on the words “Daughter” and “King”
  7. Color scheme and color names: Analogous – violet, purple, indigo, blue
  8. Title Font Name & Category: Hello Script – Script
  9. Copy Font Name & Category: Palatino Linotype – Old Style

  1. Breathtakingly inspirational flow and message. The blend with the star field is truly inspirational what gave you the idea? We are people of eternity and what better way to represent that then the heavens, and that eternal existence flows within your work here.

GORGEOUS!!! I absolutely love this! Now I want to try this for my sister. I love that you thought of your young women while making this. It is definitely something that could be hanging in the YW room at church or personalized with each of their gorgeous faces for a gift at like new beginnings or something. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
